Barbie is a movie star! She enjoys playing different roles in all her films. From a fairy to a princess to a mermaid, Barbie can do it all!
Being a star is a lot of fun, and Barbie loves to shine on the red carpet—but she also loves to hang out with her friends….
Teresa is one of Barbie’s best friends. She is very artistic and her designs are hot!
Nikki is another one of Barbie’s best friends. Honest and bold, she isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. Nikki is a great dancer and practices new routines with Barbie all the time.
Summer is super-sporty. Barbie and Summer love camping and playing tennis together. Summer is always on the go—and ready for adventure!
Raquelle is an actress, too. She competes with Barbie for roles and always has to wear the latest fashions first.
Ken is cool, charming, and kind. He is on the soccer team and is totally into sports.
Barbie likes Ken a lot.
Ryan is sooo cute! He’s one of the coolest boys at school, but he’s a little mysterious. All the girls want to talk to him—and find out more about him!
Steven is Ken’s best friend. He is very funny and loves all the latest techno-gadgets and gear.
Each of Barbie’s friends is different in his or her own way—that’s what makes them so special! They are all fun and fabulous, too—just like Barbie!
Barbie couldn’t wait—the Sweethearts Dance was tonight!
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
“Who could that be?” wondered Barbie.
Barbie opened the door to find a beautiful wrist corsage on her doorstep! But who was it from?
A small pink card was nestled among the colorful flowers:
Barbie was so excited—she had never had a secret admirer before!
After putting on her corsage, Barbie went straight to the center of town.
Along the way, she spotted her favorite accessories shop—and the owner standing outside, holding a long red box with a big silky bow.
“This is for you!” said the woman with a smile.
Barbie quickly opened the box and discovered a soft, stylish wrap—along with another note. Feeling warm and cozy, Barbie read the next clue:
Barbie looked around and spotted a store that might hold her next clue—the Little Toy Shop!
Inside, Barbie found a pink box with a small card dangling from a satin ribbon. She untied the bow, lifted the lid, and pulled out … a fuzzy, cuddly teddy bear!
The card read:
Barbie hurried down the street to find her last surprise—and her secret admirer!
Soon Barbie was inside her favorite store, the Sweet Treats Café. On the chocolate counter, she spotted a container of steaming hot cocoa. She read the small pink card.
Grabbing the cocoa, Barbie dashed outside!
“Will you be my date for the Sweethearts Dance?” asked Ken, bowing grandly. He looked very dashing in a tuxedo and top hat.
“I can’t believe you’re my secret admirer!” exclaimed Barbie.
Just then, Barbie heard laughter and saw all her friends peeking out from behind a carriage!
“Hi, Barbie!” they exclaimed. “We were all in on the surprise.”
“You guys are the best,” said Barbie.
Barbie and Teresa love pets, and now they’re opening their very own pet shop, Purrfect Pets! The two friends can’t wait for the grand opening, but they have so much to do.…
Barbie feeds the bunnies in the rabbit hutch.
“Peekaboo,” Barbie says to a shy little floppy-eared fellow. “Somebunny loves you!”
Then Barbie puts the finishing touches on the puppy corral.
“They’ll need lots of toys,” says Barbie.
“Time for puppy play!” exclaims Teresa.
Now it’s time for Barbie and Teresa to set up their favorite part of the shop—the Posh Pets Beauty Salon!
Teresa gets the grooming station ready so that pets can take a bubbly beauty bath and get their fur styled …
… while Barbie prepares the awesome accessories—silky ribbons, colorful bows, and glittering collars!
“Almost done,” Teresa says. “But we’ve got to come up with something to make our opening day extra special.”
“I know!” exclaims Barbie. “We’ll invite everyone to glam up their pets and be part of a pet fashion show!”
“Great idea!” says Teresa.
On opening day, all the pets get pampered and styled before their walk down the runway.
“Ooh-la-la!” exclaims Barbie as she grooms a beautiful French poodle.
Soon all the posh pets are ready for showtime!
With a thumbs-up signal from Teresa, the curtain opens and the show begins. Every pet gets to stroll down the runway.
“They all look purrfect!” exclaims Barbie.
The grand opening is a huge success! Everyone has a great time and buys lots of goodies. But more importantly, many pets find loving new homes.
